* BigEater: Being the fat bird that she is, Firo is notoriously known by Mein to have always been the main culprit when large number of prepared meals suddenly disappear. As a nicknamed contribution to Firo's reputation for eating mountains of food, Mein sometimes refers to her as the Gluttonous Devil Bird.

Added DiffLines:

* MoodWhiplash: At chapter 136, the first scene starts off with Mein having a heartwarming conversation with Raphtalia regarding their secrets as princesses and to comfort the latter of any trauma she may have received from Consevatie. As Mein slowly falls asleep in bed, the next scene suddenly switches to a dramatic, action chase where she is left bedridden from her fever, alongside the Three Heroes Church pursuing her group.

Added DiffLines:

* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: Raphtalia would usually try to be the best loving daughter for Naofumi and Mein, but encountering individuals with cruelty she is unable to comprehend, Raphtalia hates them with bitter contempt. At worst, she'll want her most hated individuals to die.
** At Mouse, finding out the latter had fed a boy to dogs, and even to other victims she lacks any recollection about, Raphtalia is pushed to her RageBreakingPoint. At Raphtalia's angriest, she goes onto jam her knife multiple times into Mouse's neck, unaware of the bloodshed being caused, until finding out Mouse had already died.
** Consevatie. Having to spend her time as a slave of him, Raphtalia developed a level of contempt and fear that causes her to see him as a bigger monster than any bandit who followed the Bitch Lord. His inability to empathize with anyone, and extreme egotism ends up being a slaveowner even worst than her previous one. Once out of Consevatie's clutches, Raphtalia wants nothing more than to expose the crimes he committed and be the one that personally tortures him for all his senseless cruelty.

** Played for Drama. Similarly like canon, Raphtalia prefers being a slave, because she believes the act to be a "sign of trust" to the person she cares for, but Malty and Naofumi understanding the horrors of slavery, they deconstruct SlaveryToBeASpecialKindOfEvil to deter Raphtalia from seeing it as a positive thing like her canon self.

Added DiffLines:

* CharacterDevelopment:
** From the start of her introduction, Raphtalia's timid and shy personality brings her fear when put in a situation where she has to fight or kill dangerous threats. Slowly through time, Raphtalia's bravery strengthens, enabling her to more personally confront threats such as a Hell Hound and Mouse in a direct battle.
** In case anything were to go wrong, or if she is left out of a battle her party is involved in, Raphtalia undergoes a HeroicSelfDeprecation believing herself to be TheLoad that failed to do anything when problems occur. However, as of chapter 136, Raphtalia's growing hatred for Consevatie ends up being a positive benefit for her based on what Mein sees. By placing the blame on Consevatie, [[TeachHimAnger Raphtalia is able to learn how to blame others for the problems caused]], rather than sulk in her own despair doing nothing.

Added DiffLines:

* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Raphtalia always remains dedicated to participate in every battle her group is involved in, as so she can feel like a member that is a contribution to their cause to fight for justice. When sitting out and not being directly involved with her party, she'll feel like blaming herself for not doing enough, even when Naofumi or Mein praise her for all the other achievements she made.

Added DiffLines:

* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Discussed and Played for Laughs. Mein, suggesting that a possible method to employ on killing Consevatie is to hammer him onto a wooden pole once they manage to expose him for all his crimes, Raphtalia in chapter 136 admits she wants to get herself involved with Consevatie's hypothetical execution by being the one that hammers his body with nails.
-->'''Raphtalia:''' But if we really do get Consevatie crucified, you think they'll let me hammer in a few nails?

Added DiffLines:

* TeachHimAnger: Participating in Mein's hypothetical scenario in chapter 136 where Consevatie is crucified, Raphtalia motivates herself with anger in wanting herself to be the one who nails him onto a cross. Mein, seeing Raphtalia's anger flare up, she is pleased to see it come forth, because Raphtalia is able to rightfully blame some in the wrong to motivate herself, rather than be sulking in despair.
-->'''Mein:''' (Raphtalia's soft and usually awkward voice slowly turns into sharper, vindictive near the end. Mein is actually happy about this development. Raphtalia's resentment towards Consevatie is a good thing. It means she'll focus more on blaming the the insane fuckboy for what he deserved, rather than beating herself over something she is innocent of.)

* InnocentlyInsensitive: To convince Naofumi into letting her stay with him to fight off the undead, Raphtalia claims that she won't be TheLoad to him or a pampered noble. A "pampered noble" as one of Raphtalia's reasonings, it ends up being a jab to Mein's secret identity as a princess.

** Downplayed. During her guilt-filled response explaining the things Consevatie had told her, Raphtalia says to Mein that of the things he had said was her being the "first daughter of the king, ''and you were only nice to us so you can use us''." Mein, shocked by Raphtalia having knowledge of her real identity, she ends up feeling ashamed for the original selfish intentions she held when joining Naofumi, even if all Raphtalia said was hearsay she heard from Consevatie.

* GuiltComplex: Having to stay for several chapters as Consevatie's slave, Raphtalia is left feeling guilty of herself playing a possible contribution as to Mein and Naofumi falling for Consevatie's trap. Even when finally rescued from Consevatie's clutches, Raphtalia is left blaming herself for being a traitor to Mein and Naofumi, despite having done her best to keep herself and Firo safe from Consevatie's anger.

* InnocentInaccurate: Surviving the Hell Hound back at the Lute Village mine, Raphtalia believed the truth to be herself being too weak to defend Mein, which was why the latter left her. Thinking Mein cared for her back then, Raphtalia promises to get stronger for her, so she won't be seen as TheLoad where people waste time caring for. Unbeknownst to Raphtalia, the reason Mein abandoned her was because she was a DirtyCoward that wanted to use her as a HumanShield for the Hell Hound to feast on. However, since Raphtalia expressed a misguided version of her gratitude to Mein, the latter was touched and [[TookALevelInKindness slowly started to care for her afterwards]].

** Explaining how she thinks of Mein in chapter 136, despite revealing knowledge of knowing the latter to be a princess in disguise, Raphtalia [[GoodAllAlong assumes Mein have always kept]] [[SecretIdentity benevolent intentions posing as someone else]]. However, Malty feeling ashamed of Raphtalia's idealistic view of her, she knows that deep down that the original reason she [[BitchInSheepsClothing joined up with Raphtalia and Naofumi was to use them for her]] own ambitions at the start, [[BecomingTheMask until growing to care for them as close companions]].

Added DiffLines:

* RightForTheWrongReasons: Explaining to Mein of having knowledge about the latter's real identity as a princess in chapter 136, Raphtalia places her hope that Mein had pretended to be someone else in order to save Naofumi from the bad treatment of nobles. Though Raphtalia was correct in assessing Mein to be a princess in disguise, she ends up being wrong in why Mein is motivated to keep her real identity a secret from everyone, as the truth is that Mein is afraid of Naofumi abandoning her for being selfish.

** Just as Mein goes about comforting her to ensure that Raphtalia was a victim of Consevatie's horrible actions, and not someone who actually cared for her wellbeing, Raphtalia makes a shocking response in her mumble regarding what Consevatie had said to her and Firo. In one of Raphtalia's mumble that shocks Mein in chapter 136 was the confirmation of the former having gained the knowledge that the latter had been a [[KingIncognito princess in disguise all along]].

Added DiffLines:

* ComfortingTheComforter: When Mein comes to her tent in chapter 136, the original intention was to comfort Raphtalia of any trauma the latter had experience from being with Consevatie, but Raphtalia ends up comforting Mein from the reveal that she knows of the latter being a princess. While Mein is left feeling ashamed of the lies she made in the party for hiding away her true intentions, she is comforted by Raphtalia continuing to trust her as a good person, even if there are still secrets kept between each other.

Added DiffLines:

* TheIdealist: When it comes to accessing the qualities of Mein, Raphtalia praises only on the former's positive traits and removes any thought of Mein's more secretive actions as a way to repay to Mein for saving her life back in the abandoned mine, and for always being with her as a mother or big sister.

Added DiffLines:

* InternalReveal: At chapter 112, Raphtalia gets to learn or Mein's identity as a princess from what Consevatie had said to badmouth Mein. Coming into chapter 136, Raphtalia takes the chance to silently reveal to Mein of the latter's identity as a princess. Mein, learning that her real identity had been revealed to Raphtalia by Consevatie, she is left trembling in fear and shame on how Raphtalia would view her afterwards.

Added DiffLines:

** While detailing the stuff Consevatie had said during her time with Mein in chapter 136, Raphtalia lets out the [[InternalReveal fact of Consevatie telling her]] of [[KingIncognito Mein's lineage as a princess]], and the [[MaliciousSlander possible slander]] where the [[BitchInSheepsClothing latter had only acted nice to use her and Naofumi]].

* HeroicRROD: After the group manages to escape Consevatie and Roger's pursuit from Balafon in chapter 136, most members are left tired from the running. Mein is left with an AfterActionPatchUp to be at rest from an arrow head stuck in her arm, Naofumi is left drained from using the Chief God's fire, and Raphtalia and Firo are left resting in their tents.
